The manufacturer's warranty, repair or replacement of your product, but what exactly do you need to know? Here you'll find all the information you need in ten key facts.

1- Purchase date initiates warranty period

First, the manufacturer's warranty on the newly purchased tool begins on the date of purchase. This is always indicated on the store invoice. Then, visit the manufacturer's website to find out the exact warranty period applying to your tool. A few sites are listed at the end of this article.

2- The purchase invoice is essential for warranty claims

Without an invoice, there's no warranty on a tool that needs repair. In fact, it represents your proof of purchase. It also helps us determine the age of your tools and assess your warranty. All workshop interventions are based on this important document to authorize the repair of your tool.

3- Show brief description of tool to be covered by warranty

It is also highly recommended to take photographs of the broken tool from different angles. This facilitates the analysis needed to establish an appropriate diagnosis. In this way, you enable repairers to focus their attention directly on the suspected anomaly.

4- Describe the problem detected at the time of warranty application

Please note that the more detailed your observations, the more likely it is that you will be able to provide repairers with a relevant diagnosis. We invite you to submit a detailed request by e-mail to [email protected]. Otherwise, please do not hesitate to contact our workshop for any assistance you may require. Our workshop is open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

5- Complete and submit the repair form

A repair form has recently been made available to all commercial customers connected to the store's transactional site. It's available from the customer interface when you enter your username and password on the customer access page. Check it out today!

6- Evaluation time for issuing a diagnosis

Roughly speaking, evaluation times depend on the type of tool and brand. For example, we can carry out minor repairs over the counter. If it's a question of changing a chuck, bit springs, retaining rings, etc., we'll be happy to help. However, if the specialized tool has to be repaired outside our workshop, a longer lead time is inevitable.

7- What the warranty does not cover

Normal wear and tear, or a tool that has been abused, misused or poorly maintained, is not covered by the warranty, since it is wear and tear related to normal or abusive use of the tool in question. Instead, the warranty will cover breakage due to material or manufacturing failure.

8 - Here's a case of inappropriate use not covered by the warranty

To illustrate the case of improper use of a tool whose warranty cannot be honored, let's take the example of a manual ratchet socket used on an impact wrench. It goes without saying that the square socket will wear out prematurely and eventually cause slippage during use!

9- Repair times vary from tool to tool

Just like the time it takes to make a diagnosis, repair times vary from one tool to another, depending on the type of tool and brand. If the part(s) is (are) in stock in the workshop, the tool will indeed be repaired within a few days. On the other hand, in cases where specialized parts have to be ordered from the supplier, this will take additional time, depending on availability and delivery times to our workshop.
